Alright fellas..... just found a 2011 vivid black Road Glide Custom rear fender, including lighting, wiring harness, and fender extension with LED's (like street glide).

What problems am I gonna have this time???

I don't know about trying to spread the struts with a jack, no way to ensure they both move evenly. You might end up with the fender favoring one side and looking tweaked from behind.

Wyde Glyde Bry, you shouldn't run into anything major. you'll have some extra holes and need to make some new ones. Even after grinding down the bosses at the rear it's still snug but you can squeeze the fender between the struts. Since you're doing a Wide Glide I'd be interested in knowing how the stock fender extension fits up to the touring fender.

Thanks for the tip! I finally figured it out! Here are pics of what I did to the lower fatboy tree to make it work on my frame. I've since powder coated it. I started putting everything together yesterday and ran into a snag. The dampening tube on one of the fork legs that I bought on ebay is broken! I didn't know it until I went to put on the wheel and the slider dropped all the way down the length of the tube and I had to take the whole thing apart to figure out what the problem was. Anyway I'm going to weld it back together and if I don't like the way it comes out I'll order a new one.

On the touring fenders, does anyone know if the wiring harness plugs in to the harness on the Dyna?

Couldn't tell you for sure on the touring harness, I used my original.

Might be worth cross referencing part numbers on each harness, Bry.

looks good. take the time to clean up your head tube on the frame before putting the tins over the trees. Wax works good.

traveler -- I know the part numbers are different, found that out already, but that could just be due to the length of the harness. The harness is longer on the Wide Glide as it reaches back farther. I'm sure it won't work and I'll have an electrical nightmare on my hands

Bry, my '07 wiring plugged into the stock '09 RK tailght setup. And also worked with the Street Glide signals when I switched.

that's great news..... now hopefully that all remained the same for Road Glides in 2011... they have no tail light though, so I'm worried about that. Road Glide Customs only have the turn signal bar (which also acts as tail light), and the LEDs at the bottom.
