Not sure on parts yet, still researching that, but I love the looks of ackman's bike though (and several others on here). I was looking at the fat kid kit, but i read that the fender is flimsy. I think I can get the parts I need from ebay. Ill keep you guys posted.

Floorboards are softail
All shift side controls are 2006+ forward controls hardware
Brake pedal doesn't have a part # yet

No prices yet but a H-D Australia dealer show brackets are $66 each Aussie.

What exhaust are you guys running that did this conversion? I want something vintage looking, but torn on what to get.

Well, I am waiting for winter to do this but I got a 2009 2 into 2 touring exhaust that just needs a little bending to get it right. 2009 is important because: 1. it has no catalytic converter and 2. it is the only modern cross-under touring exhaust that has the O2 sensors up near the exhaust port rather than down near the collector. I will then decide on which dual fishtails to get.

Here is a picture of my latest idea. A 1958-84 luggage rack, widened and attached to homemade plates utilizing modern quick release hardware.

Has anyone measured up the rear fender on the new FLD yet. The HD shop here has not got one yet. I hope like hell they fit 07 Styreet Bobs. You all should feel damn good to, without your know how and getting up and doing it the FLD would not be around. Noone can tell me that Harley didnt come strait to this forum and copy what you all have already done. That kicks ass.

Supposedly it is halfway between the Street Bob and Fat Bob/Wide Glide . Don't worry, it will fit. I have a 2010 Road King fender between my struts with no modification for width.

That sounds great! I want to do the FL front end on my 07 street bob, but money has been tight. Do you think the FLD front end would work on my bike as well. I dont understand the rake and trail thing, so I have to rely on what I can learn from others. Did you need custom spokes on you rear wheel or did you use stock Dyna spokes? Thanks for your help.

I have an album under my profile explaining how I did this bike. I used the rim off of a 2010 Road King, cut about three threads from the end of the spokes and laced the Dyna hub up to it.
The FLD front end should fit without any problems, but will be exspensive. I used a Fat Bob triple tree off of eBay for $50 and reused the forks, but most of the folks in this group used the front end from some type of FL Softail (Fat Boy or Heritage etc). This is more exspensive that the way I went but significantly cheaper than an FLD front end.
