Thanks a lot! The pipes are SAMSON "Shorties". I love the way they sound. Now I just have to get them tuned in.

How about some details on the open element air-cleaner? The whole bike looks sharp!

Hey, question for y'all. What kind of mileage are you getting from your factory Street Bob tires? I've got just over 2200 miles on my '09 Street Bob and the back tire looks about halfway worn out.

I have a theory about that, Shaq. I think it's from the rear being out of alignment. Mine was wearing fast, too, and the bike always pulled to the left, when I let go of the bars (not that I should be doing that while riding, but it happens), and my bars always seemed a little crooked, also. I took it to the dealer where I bought it, and they went over it and said they couldn't find anything, and that the alignment was spot on. I took it to another dealer, and they said the same thing, and said it was my imagination. When it comes to bikes, I'm no dummy, I've been riding and wrenching on them since I was a kid, and know when something isn't right. I checked the alignment myself, according to the manual, and sure enough...spot on. Then, I decided to align it MY way to where the belt runs center on the pulley, and what a suprise...now my bike rides straight, my bars are straight, I could ride no-handed from sea to shining sea, if I wanted, and cut my tire wear in half. MY tire wore more in the first 2000 miles than it did in the last 8000. My front tire is much better now, also. no more cupping.
I would start at the dealer. Have them make sure the wheel and motor is aligned to spec.

On mine, the little holes in the swingarm, that you use to measure the distance between the hole and the center of the axle was off just a hair.

Hmmm... I hadn't thought about that possibility. I haven't noticed the bike pulling to the right or left but now you've got me thinking a harmless experiment would be to get out on a nice level road and take my hands off the bars a few seconds and see if it feels like it's pulling any. The belt looks like it's tracking *almost* exactly on the center of the rear pulley. Still wouldn't hurt to consider this possiblity a little more. Thanks for the suggestion.

could be the motor alignment, too. the swingarm is attached to the back of the trans, so if the motor is out of wack, so is the rear wheel.

The waiting is the hardest part.
Just got off the phone with Jamie at Fuel Moto. My new Rush mufflers and tips have shipped. ETA Tuesday. Man I hate waiting.
