Hi all. Just posted a pic of my new pride & joy.
Briefly as a quick intro, I'm a 53 year old grandma, got my license right before my 50th birthday, and my first bike which was a Suzuki Intruder 800. From there, went to a Harley 883 Low for 4 months, "upgraded" to the Nighster 1200N. Had that for a year and just traded for the Street Bob. I just really felt I was ready for a little bigger bike that would be better for longer trips. I was scared stiff to ride that baby out of the dealer parking lot, and yet I found myself instantly comfortable and after this weekend of lots of riding, my hubby told me I am riding BETTER than before. I definitely feel way more confident on this bike for some reason, especially in the twisty turnies. I find I am keeping up with hubby and not doing what I was doing on the Nightster, which was slowing down to take the turns then always having to play "catch up". I just never felt confident taking those twisties on the Nighster. I am surprised that this bigger bike is feeling BETTER to me and that I am more confident in handling it.
Only problem I have is that I am short (a bit under 5' 4") and about 130 pounds (and losing :-). Backing this comparartive "beast" up is a bit difficult. I am barely flatfooted. SO I need to do some things to lower it a bit and I think that will help me out. But basically, I just love this bike.
Looking forward to "chatting" with you all.

O.K. I have a really stupid question, but I can NOT find the answer. Is there a difference between an FXDBI and an FXDB ?? Or is it one in the same?

Thanks for the invite, The bob is on the lift at the moment.when I was buying a dyna it was tuff, Streetbob or Fatbob ?. I like them both but in the end I ended up with the Street. The cold weather is here and it's time for more mods. hoping to finish with a cross between the street and fatbob. lots of satin black powdercoat to be done, plus a 17" front rim with 150/80 tyre mounted in fatbob tripple trees. only thing left to think about , rim colour black or white ? will post pics when its back in together.

I really liked the FatBob when I first saw them, and was envious when a (female) friend bought one. But I sat on hers and instantly thought - whoa - I'd need to do a lot to make this bike fit me. Too tall, too wide, too much of an arm stretch. It's funny because for some reason the StreetBob was the one bike I hadn't sat on, in all my trips to the dealer for various things. The day I bought mine, it was like all of a sudden I was drawn to one sitting on the floor (same as mine, a 2008 but only blue), and I said "Oh my - THAT'S the bike I want. Will it fit". I was just instantly in love. And the rest is history (other than that I ended up with the red when the salesman pointed out that they had one in a different part of the store.

Hey Perch.... the I in the FXDBI stands for the fuel injection as far as I know. Here in Germany we just have the fuel injection and no carburator any more. But I don't know how it is in the states....

hey ya'll, thanks for the invite! there is a good group of people here, lots of people/bikes i admired before i bought mine in september of 07. this is my first harley, only 24 years old. i've had a passion for motorcycles since my buddies dad first fired up his '56 pan chopper for a group of us kids way back when. joe is right, the street bob really brings out creativity in the owners. good to be here!
