Hannigan, Champion, DMC, Liberty, are the major USA made brands, all make good products, many different styles, all depends on what you want and what bike you want to put it on. A little reading on this forum will give you lots of information, also check out https://sidecar.com/sidecar/sidecars!/ ,the website of the United Sidecar Association.

Quality can be a loaded question. Learning what question to ask is the first step. What do you expect the sidecar to do for you. Wants Vs needs. Wants add up fast .
How flexible are you? Does it have to go on a bike you have now? All things you need to know.

I am a fan of sidecars. Own two. I will warn you to do you home work and know fully what you are getting into. Riding ours in the Smoky mountains now. Short trips around town and taking a trip with one are different. I have help a few near me by getting them on one. Some went ahead some did not. Doing it right is expensive, and like most mods you never get the cash back. Buying a good used rig can be a good options.
This is wife and I riding the Dragon Saturday.

Year will madder a lot. In picking a larger heavier car. No denying a sidecar puts a lot of stress on the bike. The sidecar will add a lot of weight to the bike. Sidecar most often requires at least heavier springs in the front end. You may want to do some home work on using a low model .
DMC calls it Trim everyone else calls it ECC . Electric camber control. I highly recommend getting that option. One of those things if you don't, you will be wishing you had.
Good luck on your journey. Sidecars are not for everyone. Our newest rig the 2017 RGU and Hannigan twin classic, has about 7,000 miles on the sidecar now.
Running around the Smoky mountains with it now.
No madder what car you go with, you must considered the steering. If not done right the bike will require a lot of effort to steer. Just raking the tree is not all there is to it.
A sidecar will make the bikes rear tire wear fast. Going with a car tire on the rear of the bike will solve that.

Dmdrone,
Sidecars - like Smitty stated previously, they are expensive. We have a DMC Tomahawk SE attached to my old 09 FLHX. We are mid trip [80%..?] on a long roadtrip from British Columbia.

Tomahawk SE was purchased for the lockable trunk and side door. We got it all carpeted, added the wheel brake and the electric trim / camber adjustment as Smitty also mentioned. We had the chrome spears deleted as it made it look more Harley-like. I had installed the3 Progressive Monotubes -1" lowered, to rake the rig, I needed to return it to stock height.

Washington State requires a three wheeled endorsement, and we chose to get some sidecar training for my wife as she was going to pilot the rig. We did the training and she was very glad we had this course under our belts.

I'm planning a ride review / owners review of the sidecar rig in the days ahead. Feel free to contact me regarding the DMC. I can't speak for other makes though...

Good Luck
H
