Default Hack short brake lever issue solved

I recently purchased my first hack, a 2003 Road King with factory sidecar, and have enjoyed getting used to riding it. However, being 6' 3", I found the position of the short brake pedal, which Harley supplied with the sidecar kit, to be extremely uncomfortable as I had to lift my foot high to depress the pedal. The problem with an extended brake pedal was that when depressed, it hit the large nut on the sidecar conection just in front of the footboard and did not allow the brakes to engage. To fix the issue, I contacted Rick Wright at SoftBrake Inc. After talking with Rick about my needs and sending pictures of my setup, Rick fabricated an extended brake lever for me. After several modifications, Rick was able to provide me with an extended brake lever that works well and is much more comfortable when riding. I also purchased an extended shift lever from SoftBrake to match the brake lever. If you are a taller rider and the short brake lever is uncomfortable, I encourage you to contact Rick at 208-561-5031 and talk to him about the extended sidecar brake lever. I am not affiliated with SoftBrake and won't receive any commission if you do, but I think you would enjoy the product.

I guess that's what most folks do, or just live with it the way it is. I was surprised when I started looking that there weren't any solutions already available.

Not much profit in for most when it comes to servicing the sidecar market. Even the number of companies that dor to Sidecars has gone way down.

Generally when you have a sidecar built and installed they go over issues like that and offer options.
On my friends 2015 750 street we cut the peddle about 3/4 thought bent it up to where it fit him welded it black up two costs black and done.
