Default Extended Brake Lever

Has anyone put the Harley Davidson extended brake lever (p/n 42638-03) on their bike? How much difference does it make? It says 1 inch but is that a inch on the 08 and up or the 97-07? Thanks.

I just bought the Softbrake 2" extended brake lever. Haven't installed it ye, but it's supposed to be pretty good.

Had my right knee replaced,so the brake was kind of a pain to get to. Called up softbrake and he hooked me up with a up1 and out1 brake pedal as well as an extended shift lever. Huge difference and outstanding quality and service.

If you have aftermarket pipes, better be sure the HD extended lever fits. I had a knock off Kuryakn and it hit my V&H pipes.

I installed it on my '07 SG and it made a huge difference. The OE brake lever on mine was so short it made my foot feel trapped. P/N 42638-03 is for 97-07 touring models and it makes the brake lever length equivalent to the OE brake lever on '08-13 models. H-D makes a 1" extended lever for '08 and up touring models.

I want a rear brake lever that is lower to the running board,on my 2011 SG. When I brake now,I have to lift my foot off the board to do so because the stock pedal is up so high. That increases reaction time and a loss of sensitivity/brake feel. An extended lever doesn't look like it would help.

I have this Kuryakyn Extended Brake Pedal. It's longer and lower.
