750 Street Rod and the Street have the same frame different front end. Having two bikes with a lot of common parts makes it a bit easier to keep both around.
The Street Rod and the street share one common problem. They need to sit a bit lower.
I totally disagree with you on the Street needing to sit lower. I would have kept my Iron if I'd have wanted that type of riding. Leave the Street alone, please.

I am darn sure HD does not read this page nor listen to what I think XG750 is safe. But height is another of the reasons they are not selling.
I have no real issues with mine. It really just a side project anyway.
Getting a side car mounted on this winter. This could get interesting.
