Default 2017 iron 883 or Street 750?

I'm fairly inexperienced, I owned a 600cc sport bike 10-12 years ago and haven't ridden since. I will be test driving both in the next few weeks, just wanted to get some recommendations ahead of time.

I will be doing mostly short rides, with 250ish rides sprinkled in.
Which bike would I most likely be able to get a better deal? Obviously the street has a lower msrp, but curious if one bike has more wiggle room.

Are you looking at the Street? Or the Street Rod? The Street Rod is a fairly large improvement over the standard Street, so if you haven't researched into it, I would recommend it. I'm not sure if it is on the dealer floors right now though, but if it isn't I'm positive it will be soon.

If you were looking at the Street Rod and the 883, I would say the Street Rod. WAYYYYYYYYYY better lean angle (closer to the same as your previous bike) than the 883, lighter, engine is SUPPOSED to be more powerful (HD numbers though...soooooo...maybe?) and price is comparable. More ground clearance than the 883, little bit lighter, and not everywhere.....yet.

If you are looking at the regular street only, I'd say the Iron 883. Lots of little issues with the standard Street, like weak brakes, that you wouldn't have in the 883.

Thanks, I looked at the Street Rod today (I was at HD) and really didn't like the look. Something about it, was not enough "Harley Davidson" for me.

Sounds like you'd be happier with an 883 if your criteria for a bike is it's asthetics vs. it's capabilities. Your money, pick what you think you'd look better riding.

Well then, even if the Street had more wiggle room in the MSRP, would you really want it? If the 883 is calling to you, you gotta get that one.

I think a bobbed 883 is bad *** and I want to get one eventually. helps that I already have an FXDLS so I won't have to worry about the short distances that a bobbed 883 is reasonable for!

Get the Iron.

Do they still make the street 750 I think it was replaced with the Street Rod, so you can probably get a clearance deal on the 750

My understanding is the street rod is an additional bike, not a replacement for the street 750.

it looked like an adventure bike, not what i think of when I think of a HD. The street 750 still looks enough like an HD to me
