If one could get good repeat testing. Seems like logging the time the injectors were open w/ and w/ out XiED's along with flow of injector could get you actual amount of more fuel that was increased. Then one could decide if that was enough fuel to do anything with heat management.

It would also be interesting to test higher RPM and KPA areas for AFR. The stock Delphi does no learning above 3750 and 76kpa. It just takes what it learns below this area and applies it to the area above with adaptive. Since it is tricking the ECM into a lean condition to richen things up. This could be applied to the rest of the calibration.

(RPMitUp requires a compatible WIFI OBD / OBDII Wireless scanner along with a 16 to 4 pin ELM327 cable.)

Default Xied

So what's the point here. Xieds work and that all that matters. They may not be the best thing for fuel management but I have them on my 08 FXD 96" and it runs great and has for several years since installation.

I've had them installed for a while but was always curious about the claims of improved engine temps and better throttle response. Just thought I would share some independent test data with folks. I actually did another set of runs to see if I could accelerate any better with them on or not. My 0-60 times were near identical (difference of .06s) along with the temps.

I know this is an old thread but did you notice any delay in the readouts of the phone when you were running? Like twisting the throttle was there a delay in the readout on the phone in rpms?

Nope - it is pretty much instantaneous.

i shot temps with and without the fl-vied-10 on my bike and the temps were lower with them installed. i took temps at the heads and cylinders and at the cases. i'll see if i can find the results , i had them written down out in the garage somewhere.

IMO, you get what you pay for when it comes to tuning, devices, results and run quality.
When you buy a proper flash tuner and get it dynoed for best performance, response, smoothness, and fuel mileage there is no comparison to the results from add-on gizmos and/or screwdriver or push button tuning devices.
Once you've ridden a properly tuned/recalibrated bike, stock, or highly modded hot rod, you will be a believer and tell your buddies not to mess with the "toys" and get it done right the first time.
As always, JMHO,
Bob

Showing up late to this party but I am interested in the XIED technology. The tester (MikeTimer) has a stage one already done to the bike. I wonder what the difference would be in temps if the XIED was put on a stock bike and then compare numbers? I bet there would be a bigger difference.
