Default 1995 80cu.in. EVO, ECM compatibility

Hello all,

I had many weeks ago started a thread "stalls when hot" expaining my predicament with a carburetted 1995 EVO Dyna.
Fully stock engine, no mods whatsoever, not even the ubiquitous Stage 1.

I came to replacing the crank position sensor in the nosecone, the coil and even checking the fuel vapor vent in the fuel cap...

I thought I had solved the problem but I evidently didn't, much to my chagrin, because yesterday, in thick, slow traffic, she conked out again.
No power to the plugs - I tested them and no power.

So now I'm looking at replacing the ECU/ECM (ignition module)
My ignition module reads ... ..."32464 - 95 // REV 1340 - 9508"
I have sourced one that reads "32449 - 95a// REV 1340 - 9530"

Are they compatible ? Can I remove one and fit the other ?

Please help, the bike is a good runner provided the weather is cool and I don't sit in traffic too long...

I don't think that the 32449-95a will work. That is off of a 1996 Dyna. There are aftermarket models that a lot of the gents on the EVO forum have replace the stock model with.

Default 8-7 adapter ?

Thank you.

No more than an hour ago I found an "8pin => 7pin" adapter.

I was hoping that, being two 80cu.in. carburetted VOs, the ECM would work.

But then... why shouldn't it ?

I see larsfum on the EVO forum a good bit and I'm there too.

I'm thinking there are some good folks there that could help ya out.

Most times they are a good helpful bunch.

You can try using the newer module with the adapter, but I would get the correct module, and be done with it.

WP50 gives good advice about stopping in at the EVO forum. Those guys will steer you right.
