Hey all, it appears that my Street bobs ignition has been bypassed somehow.

The bike starts in ignition, acc and off position. I pulled the plug from the ignition switch and even open circuited the bike still starts.
Iv tried to check for codes and/or reset it but as the ignition appears to be stuck in the on position I'm not sure how to do this. Any ideas on what I have done or how to fix this?

 

Check for a Stuck Relay

 

Iv found damaged wiring coming from the Speedo, the CAN high may have been shorted with either ground or power. Could this have caused the issue?

 

Uh, yeah. Damaged wiring is one of the primary indicators of an electrical problem.
Have you changed the bars or done any other work involving the switches on the right side or the ignition switch?

 

The only work I have done recently is change the headlight. Just a plug in LED unit and changed the grips. I had the switch housing hanging but didn't make or break connections.
i must have pinched the wires when I reinstalled the tank console after some work a while ago... I'm an idiot.

The worst damaged was the CAN high and the power.
​​​​​​so I think I short between the 2 or ground on the tank may have occurred.
Iv repaired the wires and still have the issue. Is there some kind of a reset I can try or if the issue was fixed would the problem just resolve it's self?
From what I have read my bike may be in fail safe mode as I haven't tried to ride it yet, just started it. I will check this when I get home.
