Ignition switch
I changed my ignition switch because I lost the key. Installed and put coils back on. When I go to start it turns over , runs for 5 seconds and backfires and shuts off . any one have any ideas whats wrong ? Please

EFI or Carb? Did you check for codes? Diagnosing a problem over the internet isn't always easy, but you'll get more help if you tell us what you're riding. Year, model, mileage, mods, etc.

I didn't take the wires off the coils , just took the bolts out of them to move out of the way so I could replace ignition.

If you moved it I would check to see if you pinched a wire or loosened a connection. Most likely something simple. If it worked before and doesn't now. Double check everything. Switch could be bad but not usually
