Default Really annoyed with FP3

So I took delivery of an FP3 yesterday to address a baffle change in the V&H 4.25” dual ovals that we’re on my 07 Ultra (HD stage1 filtration) when I bought it lightly used in’12.

Took an an hour last night to get it to connect and recognize the bike/Vin. I flashed it as closely as possible given the list of options. This morning I took it out and the bike felt better than it had in years but it did have a tendency to stall on roll out with out more throttle than usual. Sooooo, I turned on auto tune and headed out.

After 15 minutes on the freeway, auto tune hadn’t logged anything. The grey square stayed in the top left square, and, it still said engine cold at the top. So I pulled over, shut down auto tune.

Since then, when connecting the iPhone via BT, it says connected with a green check mark but with a yellow exclamation point. Further investigation reveals that it states its connected to a different bike than the 07 touring. Seems to be locked out.

However, “if” I can get it back to auto tune by starting the bike, it recognizes my vin no problem. Of course, auto tune still doesn’t do anything.

Anyone see see this before or have ideas?

tom.

Do some searches, there were several with this issue few months back. I believe they had to change the auto tune settings (not the quick option). Took VH awhile to figure out, believe it was mostly your vinatge bike

OP, we spoke to you this morning and identified that the handlebar run switch was not on in addition to the key, which is why you were unable to connect. We also got you setup on the correct base map as the map you were previously running was incorrect for your exhaust setup.

Let me/us know if you have further questions.

I had an easy time using mine....I haven't auto tuned yet though...I heard you have to do a bunch of riding in different gears an speeds an acceleration rates while auto tuning..there's a screen on your phone that displays the progress of the map an as areas fill in with green it's "learned" that area of the power band. I also read it can/will run crappy for a while when you auto tune.

I had more trouble opening the box than I did using the FP3. It's a good piece of kit.

I’m also on the Plus side for VH and the FP3. Bike ran great after the download but had a error message about running rich. I contacted VH from within the app and they tweaked the map and had it back to me in an hour. No more error codes and the bike pulls like a mule with just a stage one combo deal from Fuel Moto. Very pleased!

Will they ever do data logging to help with real tuning issues?
