2011 FLSTC stuck in open loop (AFR 12.8 or lower)
I had a dead o2 sensor that I discovered once I installed my FP3. I figured that was why I wasn't getting any green cells in autotune, why it was stuck in open loop, and trying to get the AFR any higher than 12.7 while in autotune made it sputter and die. I replaced the o2 sensor, and I started to get green cells in autotune, but wheter it's in autotune or not, the AFR is always 12.8 or lower. Any ideas? S&S intake, V&H Big Shots Long, and FP3 are the only mods.

Thanks for the advice, Nitro. Can you share what map(s) you are (or were) using?
In fact, does anyone else reading this also have a 2011 FLSTC using the FP3? I tried going back to the stock map and have tried several other maps. No joy. The AFR won't go above 12.8 unless I autotune and select advanced setup. When I do that, the lowest it'll go is 14.4. And I'm assuming there's no database where I can research canned fuel maps from V&H. I'm going to try and just autotune the stock map to see what happens. Got a 3 hour ride to the state track & field meet I'm leaving for in a half hour, so I'll get a chance to do some cruising speed tuning to see if that helps at all. Will report back.
(Some background: bought a used 2011 Heritage Softail Classic, added the FP3 this year, as I was only getting 30-35 mpg no matter how conservatively I rode. Found the dead rear o2 sensor by watching o2 voltage and realizing I wasn't getting any green cells on autotune because the FP3 couldn't get an acceptable sample value from the rear. New o2 sensor brought the green cells, but fuel economy has never hit 40, no matter how many big rigs I coasted behind. After reading up on some AFR literature, I realized my AFR of 12.8 is pretty rich, so I tried to set it higher in autotune, but the bike sputtered and kept dying at idle, and riding it wasn't going to happen. I tried a half dozen times, but it would hesitate, sputter, surge, and sounded like hell. Backfired a lot and was a general hazard to try and ride on the road like that. So I went back to "quick setup" options on autotune and driveability returned, except for the fuel economy which is still mid 30s).

the FP3 for softail 2011 is with error in TARGET AFR, the reading is incorrect, I sent e-mail to V & H and they answered that I must trust in the AFR table.
where it's at 14.4 on my AFR Target AFR is reading 12.7
where it's at 14.1 on my AFR Target AFR is reading 12.6
where it's at 13.1 on my AFR Target AFR is reading 12.3
send an email to the V & H of your FP3 connected on the motorcycle and report the problem

Verified, update didn't fix it for me either. Target AFR is still 12.8 at cruising speed. On a side note, an exhaust flange nut worked itself loose on my ride to work this morning. Fell off and was resting on the transmission. Recovered it, but that was a NOISY ride home. Pop pop pop! I ride through the hood on the way home and it was almost funny to see people jump when I let off the throttle
