2014 Road King Tuner, AC, Exhaust Changes
I just purchased a 2014 Road King has SE Street Cannon slip ons and that's it. Is it the general consensus that every bike form the Factory should get a tuner to get rid of the lean condition, and drop the CAT from the exhaust to get the bike running properly? It seems like most people do this immediately and that is what I have always done with all of my bikes.
I have only ridden this bike for a week but it runs well, sounds decent, its a bit hot but wondering if adding a tuner, new head pipe, and high flow AC are things that would make it run better, and extend engine life make the bike more reliable in the long run vs leaving the stock ac, CAT, and stock ECM on the bike and just riding it.
Curious what people think.

There are pleanty of threads supporting stage upgrades contributing to cooler running motors : https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...nd-tune-2.html

I plan on keeping the bike for a long time, I figured I would plan some Stage 1 upgrades for the winter. Powervision Tuner and AC now, headpipe in winter, then decide on whether or not to change the slip ons. But prior to spending all that $ I figured I would ask what the general consensus was. I figured it was to do a stage 1 upgrade including removing the CAT. I will checkout the thread. I guess a cooler running engine would help reliability and longevity of the motor for sure.

More information on de-catting the header pipe https://www.hdforums.com/forum/exhau...removal-2.html
No decat for me. I will either leave it in there or buy an aftermarket pipe from Dan Moto, Rush or Fuel Moto that has a design in it to deal with the potential cross talk issue. I would rather not have an empty hollow hole in the middle of my pipe. I spent alot of time thinking about this just my preference. Its only $200 for a Dan Moto pipe or $230 for a rush pipe. Decat is $100 to $150 unless do it yourself. Just makes sense to buy aftermarket pipe that has a decent collector design. IMHO.
