I put python slip on's on my '15 slim an the popping was pretty bad on decel. I picked up some Xied's used on here an they probably cut it in half or more.So for me they didn't totally cure the problem but made an improvement an made the bike easier to live with. with a tuner like the FP3 you flash a tune to adjust for your changes an your stock tune is stored in the tuner an you just flash it back if you have a emission inspection. I sold my xied when I got a flash tuner so if you pick them up an decide to move on you can do the same. Flash tuners get married to the bike so they can't be sold like the ad on products.

Thanks, I did truely wonder how something that sounds like it basically just adds a specific extra amount to what ever the ecm calls for, would work out.

Yes spend the money once and get a tuner to allow map changes. I tried the cheap route and was soon spending again to solve

As mentioned, save yourself the grief of trying to cheap out on tuning your bike for changes you’ve made to the airflow but nothing for fueling.
Using products designed to try to fool the ECM into running the bike richer than calibrated for will always cause ill-running issues because lying to the ECM will not accomplish what the user assumes.

Unfortunately there is an awful lot of misleading info around HDF and the internet. Nothing has changed - when I bought my first Harley back in the 1970s owners fitted slash-cuts and an S&S air cleaner with the same consequences that EFI owners suffer these days! In both cases there is no substitute for using suitable components and tuning the bike right.

I have an PC3 on my 06 and true dual exhaust. I have baffles and do have a decent tune on it and it works well.
I just added the Xied to my Wife's 08 Softail and all she has is an intake and slip on Rush pipes. The bike was running lean and we are only into the first fuel tank with it, but the wife noticed that it has less decel pop.

the FP3 is is around $300 so it isn't a lot more than the xeid devices. if you contact V&H you can verify but I thought I read they only offer epa compliant tunes
