Rode my bike the other day about 50 miles, stopped to have a beer, went to go start it back up, motor turns but will not start. Checked for spark and there is no spark. Brought the bike home, checked coil for primary and secondary resistance, checks out fine. Bought a new coil, still no spark, that coil checks out fine. Checked kill switch, which is fine. Getting 12 volts at coil. Think it is my ignition module. It is a compufire elite-1. How can I check to make sure it is shot so I dont have to spend money on a new one for nothing? Red indicator light for top dead center does not light when turning engine over. Does this mean the ignition is shot?

 

It means something is wrong, but check all the connections between the ignition and evrything else before you toss it.

 

Must be a freakin' epidemic! Same thing happened to me, power to coils,(mines dual fire set up),no spark at plug,...still trying to determine problem.
