Default O2 clearance from the heads with thunder max

I am thinking of putting a thunder max in my bike while I am doing this I would like to change my head pips to true duel I read that with some manufactures your might have trouble ( clearance problems) with the o2 sensor touching the heads. Has any body install a thunder max with auto tune and change to true duels if so what brand of head pipes did you use and did you have trouble with the clearance from the new o2 sensor?

I went with Rinehart True Duals at the same time I installed my ThunderMax on my '07 Ultra. No clearance issues front or back at all.

Install was easy. I only have about 150 miles on it but so far the bike starts and runs MUCH better than the Power Commander and the V&H Fuelpak I had on it before! I am experiencing a little decel popping but have noticed it going away a little. I have been told by a member on this forum that Zippers will be releasing something soon for the ThunderMax that will take care of that.

The only pipes I've heard of that have fitment issues with the T-Max are V&H True Dual headpipes.

I have heard that if you want to use them it's a simple matter to heat the bung area with a torch and bend it upward just a touch changing the angle.

stro did you have any problems installing your thunder max? I herd you just install the ecm and the two 02 sensors put in the right base map and your good to go and after 1000 miles it is all tune in for your mods. Is this true

Yes, that's pretty much it. You can play with the base map to try to increase gas mileage and what not, but you usually don't need to unless there isn't a base map close to your build. Pretty much plug and play, I recommend it!

I have the V&H Big Shot True duals and Thundermax setup on my '07 RKC. While the rear o2 sensor is close, it has posed no probs in 1500 miles and runs GREAT! Using Zippers Airfilter setup as well. The angle of the pic makes it look even closer than it actually is. Since there is no vibration or movement in relation to pipe/engine, there are no chafe issues. Of course YMMV
