how to make my 2007 fxdwg stay in open loop mode.
Thanks all. 2007 dyna wide glide - power vision 3 - target tune. My target tune is doing his job. I need to disable the adaptive fuel factors for logging. I want to lock the bike and open loop mode while logging so I have a logging calibration. I want to flash the logging tune and temporary ride while logging.
Sorry sir I have target tune from dynojet installed. The problem * target tune is bad *** but will not operate autotune. Target tune trims fuel and will not adjust the VE table. Well I can log and use tune lab. BUT target tune adjust adaptive fuel factor before I can get a good log for tune lab to clean up my VEs. So if I can lock my bike in open lop mode, then I have a non-molested by target tune log. I really love the target tune, and plan to keep it. Target tune does not operate the same as auto tune pro. because both systems use wide band o2 sensors, they will log the entire AFR table. My AFF runs run 90 to 100 mostly staying around 97. I finely got both matched (rear cylinder was out of whack). Now to move on to the smoothing out the troughs in the VEs.
The post that I deleted above was how to turn off adaptive on a PV 1 or 2, then I saw you have a 3, I not familiar with a PV3
Anyway on PV 1&2 you could go to quick tune, and under the tweaks tab, uncheck the adaptive box, or load your tune in WinPV and set adaptive to 0.
Could you turn off adaptive in the C3 software?

I'm not completely clear what you are trying to do, however the easiest way to build tune corrections is going to be to use the Target Tune - Auto Tune application with your PV3 device, this sets up the tune in open loop however unlike Auto Tune Pro it does not change the commanded AF/Lambda. You can generate corrections automatically and also log data, its up to you how you want to use the data. Also note if you have Target Tune you can use it as an Auto Tune Pro, you just need to run a CAN cable from the TT module to the PV3 device.

I have already tried set the target tune to 0 instead of 1. It was no good. Now that cable idea, tell me about that! Pictures would be great. When I tried autotune pro I got an error no wide band o2 found. According to dynojet tech you can’t autotune pro with target tune. Also if it is not in closed loop it will not log data for tune lab. The tech kinda being a smart XXX said I could could put in my narrow band O2 and autotune basic. Or buy a autotune and use my wide band O2. I wish I could find a used autotune for cheap. Spending another 650 dollars when I don’t need the 300 dollars O2s. I was promised I could have Dyno tune with target tune.
So for every body looking at Target Tune (650$). IT WILL NOT CORRECT YOUR VE TABLES! Instead it runs in closed loop and changes you adaptive fuel factor throughout by using the CLI (short term fuel trim) AFF (long term fuel trim). It will work but if you have a weird cylinder like my rear, It has a hard time. My front cylinder was running rich take out 4 globally, AFF runs 98 to 103. my rear cylinder on the other hand Was running excessively lean, I had to added an average of 12 to the stock RearVE tables. My AFF Now runs 90 to 101. Still a work in progress on smoothing out my rear cylinder. my fix was to log and manually adjust my rear the VE table. Then my target tune goes into closed loop and I can no longer log because it’s molested by target tune. I hope this helps anybody going down the same path as me. My bike is a 2007 Dyna wide glide, with J1850 protocols. Him 500$ for Dyno and one time or 650$ for autotune and tune anytime I wanted. Kinda like give a man a fish and he can eat for a day, or teach him to fish and he eats for life. I turn my own wrenches, I Prefer to do things with my own two hands. I grew up, turning my own wrenches on all my race cars because I couldn’t afford to pay somebody, Now I Like the satisfaction of knowing I did that.

Mr Jamie my target tune has no extra pug for can. It has a 4 wire OBD, an obd Y cable to piggyback the PV3 into the OBD port. Could you please explain more? Pictures would help an old gear head out.
Thanks autodog.
