1st post here.

Just changed out tanks on an 06 softail std. I put the guts from the old tank into the new. Everything works fine except the fuel light (fuel pump idiot light) stays on, but the gas tank is fuel. How should I go about troubleshooting the problem. All connects seem tight. TIA

ps, i tried the search but had trouble finding anything on the subject.

 

no error codes except b1004 on SP

 

Sounds like your float is stuck.

 

wires to the fuel guage were inverted, all is well
