fuse panel removal
i have a fxdfse 09 and i need to remove the plastic housing to install a thundermax ecm
it looks like there are two slots to shove a small screwdriver to release the fuseblock but i am hesitant to put too much force on it since the bike is new. looking for any tricks to ease this project.

An update just for the record. I recently removed my accessory fuse panel from the fuse caddy of my 09 Dyna. The shop manual is very unclear about this but it's not a big deal once you know what to do.
First of all, the fuse panels do not come out the front side of the caddy. They are released and pushed out the BACK of the caddy assembly. To do this, unbolt the caddy assembly ( two bolts going down through the top under the seat and one bolt sorta in the middle of the caddy. ) Once the caddy is loose from the bike you will be able to fish-out the fuse panel once you push it through the back side of the caddy.
There is a plastic barb on the panel that engages with the caddy casting. Take a small screw driver or object that is FLAT for an inch or two. Insert the screwdriver into the release slot at the bottom of the fuse panel. You have to go in deep, an inch or so, in order release the barb. A regular 1/8-inch-wide screwdriver needs to have it's shank ground-down from the blade back or the round shank of the screwdriver will hang up and not let you go deep enough in the release slot. Once you have a proper tool, push it in until it stops and just twist it to pry up the barb while you push in on the fuse panel. It will release and the panel can be pushed back out the back side of the caddy and then fished-around so you can add wires etc.
To re-install the fuse panel, just line it up from the rear and push it back out towards the face of the caddy assembly.

Thank you so much for posting. This was exactly what I came searching for. I did not have a screwdriver with a small enough shank. I just went and bought the smallest I could find and I 'think' it will work. Otherwise I will grind the shank as you said. Really crazy HD making it so small you have to grind a screwdriver to get in it.
