Question New PCV - Running VERY rich

Hey gang.

Just installed my new PCV from the guys at FuelMoto after all this (https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...mup-pciii.html).

At startup, it's very slow to 'get going' and, once running, idles low and is VERY rich. Over the phone Keith even said it sounds like it's running on one cylinder...which I agree with.

On the phone with Keith, PCV hooked to the laptop, we tried to fix it to no avail. We both are upset that it's doing this, and he's sending me a new PCV in hopes that it's the unit itself.

Anyone have any thoughts or similar stories?? Is my bike "The One"?? :?

I've got the Auto tune modules on my PCV,
gonna take it to a dyno tuner that works with the PC and have a custom program wrote for it in the mornin. Gonna git it right for the bike.
Mine can be hard to crank at times too.
Other than that it runs pretty good.

I was thinkin that the AutoTune thing might help too...but it seems there's no helping this situation.

So for now I'm just gonna patiently await the new PCV and hope that it was just an isolated incident. Still a little worried that it's "the bike" since it didn't like the PCIII either... hmmmmmmmm....

Mine was doing the same thing. Did you have IEDs installed on the bike prior to installing the PCV ?

I had IEDs on mine before I installed the PC-V this past weekend. I removed them and installed the PC-V. It runs great but is a little hard to start. I am searching to see if there is an adjustment for that now.

Nope. I've had it since new, and this is all I've done (Jackpot muffs, A/C & PCIII/V).

We will keep in close contact with your issue, this could also be related to an underlying problem with bike that comes into the equasion when the PC module is installed.

What some are seeying is that the PC-V needs to boot up when pressing the starter button. I would certainly not consider this hard starting as it simply takes a couple of revolutions to start, and most do not notice it. This can be completely eliminated in most cases by turning on the ignition switch and starting the bike immediately as you would start your car, as you do not need to wait for the engine light to go off.
