Heritage Softail has miss

I changed the tank with a new one out of the box..I cleaned the new one out real good..installed new gas..and had a harley mechanic put the fuel pump and pickup in new tank..I bolted it on, hooked up fuel lines and ran it for about 2 miles, it ran great..The next day started off and about 2 miles down the road it started to miss, backfire and would not idle, but will accelerate fairly smoothly just no steady speed , etc..Have no idea what could have happened, check all connections, plugs ,and only thing had not checked is the screamin eagle power booster, but do not know why that would go at this time, any ideas would be appreciated..thanks
