Melted Negative battery terminal????
Hi guys and gals, had a problem with the Heritage, went to start it this morning and it hesitated, tried again and then had no power to the bike and I could smell some electrical melting smell, took the seat off and had noticed that the negative terminal on the battery had melted. Any ideas why this had happened, I'm no mechanic but could it have to do with the voltage reg overcharging the system?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Will keep you posted on the outcome.
It's a '92 Heritage all standard.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers 'n' Beers Don.

RE: Melted Negative battery terminal????
Since you didnt smell that nasty electrical smell till you tried to start your bike I would have to say the negative cable was loose or corrodedat the battery just enough tocause a high resistance when you hit the starter button due to the high draw from the starter................BG
