battery tender for 2 month old bike?
Rode my bike on Friday night for almost 2 hours after I picked it up from the dealer getting some work done. Put it in the garage and on Tuesday went to go out and it wouldn't start. Got 1/2 turn over then clicking. Put battery charger on and showed 10 volts. Charged for a little bit and fired right up. Went to dealer and everything checked out OK. Should I need to put a 2 month old bike on a battery tender? Garage is unheated and was about 45 degrees. I could see if it hasn't been run in a long time but 4 days?

RE: battery tender for 2 month old bike?
I've got a 4 year old battery and I can leave my bike in unheated garage at least 4 weeks with security system on and no tender. Bike starts right up with no problems. My bet is you have something draining the battery or perhaps a poor connection at the battery or ground.. What work did you have done at the dealer?

your problem is not the need for the tender. But the tender is a great thing to have to maintain your battery. When I park at home, the tender gets plugged in. My current battery is over 4 years old and not a problem with it. When I park at night, leds are on, this may last 4 hrs. or longer. the bike starts right up.

I've started having the same problem with my 05 Ultra. On average, I ride 4 out of 5 days to work, 40 mile round trip. Over the last 4 months, I've had intermittent starting problems. The dealer found a loose connection at first, but the problem continues. I was riding home the other day and stopped for gas after riding 15 miles. The bike BARELY cranked. It is aggrivating not knowing if you're gonna make it home. Ideas????
