I think my regulator is going but. I check the voltage at the battery at idle it's 13.5, rev to 3k 14.2, ok that's good. I don't have a diode meter but set meter to DC and get 12.8 through the regulator and as I had the ignition on it dropped to 12.6. Does this indicate a bad voltage regulator? It is 12.6 with ignition off too. Or will the meter make a difference not having the right setting? 2004 FLHTI

 

Went by the dealer today told him what was going on. After I said I'm getting 14.2v to the battery he said must be just a loose connection.
