Default First the Dealer, now the Dyno tuner

Refuses to work on an '06 or '07 bike if ithe emissions (Air intake, Exhaust, ECU) have been modified.

First I took the bike to the Dealer to try and get the injectors swapped to 25 deg. from 8 deg.and they wouldn't touch it. They suggested a local Dyno tuner. I called him and he now says "As of the first of the year the EPA is cracking down on businesses who work on modified, non-emission standard '06 and '07 bikes, and it is not worth it to him to risk a $10K fine".

So now I'm stuck trying to tune my bike after installing the SE intake, Rinehart TD's, PCIII and Andrews 26TW cams.

There is a unit called WEGO II Air-Fuel ratio metering system that uses a Wide-Band O2 sensor and gives the A/F thru the RPM range. The unit is $340, So Iguess I'll get one and get the PCIII tuned to optimum A/F myself.

Has anyone else run into this emissions wall with a Dealer or Tuner?

I guess I shoulda bought an older bike. If I knew this was going to be an issue, I probably would've.

This is not good news. Did you try Santa Maria HD. They are more into the aftermarket tuning. Don't tell them about the problems youve had, just ask for the tune up.

Sounds like you live in California..

Take a good look at the new Thundermax with Auto tune. They offer a free 30 day trial money back if your not satisfied. If it lives up to what they say, it will tune your bike for you and continue to tune it as you ride.

I would recommend the SERT first, but you say you can't find any tuners.

Just find a new tuner.

The 25 degree injectors with the appropriate OE calibrations IS LEGAL. If your current dealer doesn't understand this, find one who does.
