I was rode my 05 fxst to work on thursday in the rain and it say all day in the rain which i wasnt to happy about but had no chioce, anyway on the way home the check engine light came on and right back off twice, then today when i got her out to ride to work i turned the ignition switch and the my turn lights flashed three times and stopped, the engine light when u turn on the bike instead of coming on and then going off normally comes on for a slit second then goes out then back on for a few more seconds almost like normal but after the bike is fired up it comes on agian then goes back , i tried to see if a code would come up but nothing and the bike sounds and runs with no problems anyboby have any ideas????????? thanks steve

 

might want to check your ground to frame

 

If there are no codes then the ECM is not logging a fault event. Although there are no displayed codes I'd attempt to clear the register anyway. I'd also suspect that the rain had something to do with this, could be damp ingress to a connector(s) and the fault will disappear after a long ride on a hot day.

so i went to the local indy and they put their scanner on the bike and found that the spedo sensor wasnt picking up so i took it to the dealer to clear the codes since the spedo was working fine thats when they told me my ingnition switch was worn, the points are worn down so when i turn the switch it doesnt always contact at the right point and the lights will come on but not the spedo gauge hence the fault code so 35 dollars and a week later i will have the new ing switch and the rest
will be history
