Default problem with ignition

Hey everyone dumb question but im a a loss and horrible at wiring 1974 flh 1200.......bike was running solid....I then went to replace my ignition switch(lost the original key) after installing the new one(with the wires in the correct spots) I turned it to the on position.. I then heard two clicks from somewhere near the engine area.. I then started the bike and niw has a rough idle with no power when give it throttle..... could If I crossed a wire somewhere would that have messed the coil up or something. Any help is appreciated Thanks!

The coil should be all or nothing. Two clicks could be the sound of fuses blowing? I think the generator has to be polarized anytime it loses power. Is it charging when running?

It shouldn't have fried the board if the wires were "in the correct spots". If the problem started when you changed the switch, first retrace your steps to make sure you didn't pull apart or break any wires. Does it miss on one cylinder? Was the new switch a O.E. replacement? Did it sit for a long time? What amp charger are you using?
