Default No power in ignition position

Hey guys,
Last weekend I was out for a ride and stopped for a burger. When I went back out to my bike, I had power when the key was in accessory position, but nothing when in ignition position. I took off the seat and wiggled some wires around, and saw the lights come on. I started her up and got 2 blocks from home before she started sputtering. I made it home, but now it has the same symptoms as before and won't start. Any Ideas on what's wrong?
Thanks in advance!
Jimmy

No blown fuses? Sounds like you've got a loose/broken wire. This on a 98 Sporty like your username? The main power comes out of the fuse box and under the seat/backbone to the ignition.

Default Feel like an ***, but figured it out!

Well, I ASSumed my brand new battery was not the problem (maybe it's not the problem, but it barely had a charge). I guess we all know what happens when you assume! It pays to sit back for a minute and look at everything before diving in! I'll charge the battery, get it tested, and move on from there.

If it tests good then I would look at your charging system. Follow this procedure to verify your stator/regulator have not gone out. http://blog.jpcycles.com/step-by-ste...arging-system/ Yours is a 22A system. Where on LI you from?

Battery wouldn't take a charge, I guess I got a bad one. I'll return it on Monday, and get a mew one. It's only a couple of months old, I guess it's just defective?
I'm out on the east end of LI in the hamptons, great place to be this time of year!
