Default Powder Coated Stock Wheels

I was looking into powder coating the stock wheels to color match the bike. Does anyone have any experience with what I am talking about?

Awhile back there was a guy on here that worked with a vendor about three times trying to match (red) and never really got it right. Not saying it cannot be done, but it's hard to match powder to real paint.

I bought some RGS take offs and will be chroming them over the winter. Looks to be less than a grand with polished rotors.
Vendors will run specials too so it may be cheaper than powder coating several times over to get it right. Chrome looks better imho anyway.

Whatever you do, good luck.

If your bike is black, won't be a problem..

Chrome Wheels Matter!

Got mine chrome from Wily Shiny on an exchange basis. 15,000 miles, and they still look great.

I think it will be extremely difficult, read almost impossible, to match the Superior Blue on your bike. You may find a shade of blue that is complimentary, but I doubt you'll ever match it.

I actually was thinking about that very thing. Maybe a lighter shade of blue... but then my bike will look like a sissy and that's a big no no.

You are in St. Louis so give this guy a call, MTG Powder Coating. 636-575-0014. He does great work, is reasonable and fast. I've had him PC several items on my bike. Gloss black powder coated wheels would look good too on that Superior Blue bike. He is a Harley rider as well, so he knows the bikes and knows what he is doing.

Gloss black with polished lip and sharp edges (spokes). Like contrast cut style. Then powder the whole thing over in clear. Would look awesome I bet.

You know, I am kind of backing away from this idea. I mean I was looking at the bike and realized that the brake rotors will pretty much cover up the front wheel and the back wheel are only visible under the saddle bags. basically, no bang for the buck IMO.
