Breaking in a new m8 using a dyno machine
#11
I can't see "dumping the oil" at 50 then 100, etc etc can do anything other than spend money.
I rode mine the first 1,000 miles like I ride it today four years later. As a matter of fact, I lived life on the edge and did not do the first service till just over 1,200 miles.
Bike still runs great!
I would compare breaking in a bike on the dyno like having sex with a rubber, it's just not the same! lol

Break it in how you ride. If you ride hard break it in hard. If you ride easy break it in easy. If you ride hard and baby the break in period it may not stay together. And do not change the break in oil at 50 miles it's in the bike for a reason. Its a lower viscosity to help parts seat and mate together. Leave it in there for the 1k miles. Now when I say break it in the way you ride I don't mean slam the Rev limiter on every take off. Just have fun riding it and do it on back roads not in stop and go heavy traffic. Change oil when suggested.
