I'm just curious how you 120R owners out there are breaking them in during the first 500 miles?
Riding like you stole it?
Baby it for first 100 and them hammer it?
Heat cycle it, what steps?
Broke in on the dyno?
My bike had a heat cycle done on the dyno immediatley after and during initial tuning to seat the rings and such. Then I took it out for a 1 day 500 mile ride through the Arkansas Mountains ensuring it was never ridden very long at one RPM. I redlined it a couple of times and after the first 300 miles generally rode it like I would on a normal day. I didn't baby it at all. After the 500 mile breakin it was put on the dyno the next day for final tune and oil change. She's smooth as silk and produces great HP/TQ. Would be nice if you could post your SAE corrected dyno numbers as well.
136HP/138TQ SAE Corrected

Reason: added oil change at 500 miles
Mine was broke in on the dyno. They heat cycled it several times on the dyno and then mapped the cells twice at 25%, 50%, and 75% throttle before making full pulls. The bike was on the dyno all told over a couple of days for several hours.
S&S set rev limit to 4000 for the first 1000 miles, its a condition of the warranty. Ride her light, vary the revs etc for the first 1000mi, then do a service and up the limiter and you can cut loose.
I would recommend the same for your 120R even if you dont have warranty.
S&S recommend 6500rpm limit for the 124", what do the chicken crew reccomend for the 120R?

The map in the SEPST software has the rpm limiter set at 6600. Be carefull around those chicken 120Rs they'll put a *** whoopin on the S&S 124
Anybody running a VPC with a heavy spring as thier clutch setup?
I am using the AIM VPC 92 with an SE Diaphragm spring on mine. Also using the SE kevlar plates. Presently using the stock cast aluminum pressure plate but have an AIM billet one to swap in at some point. Seems to work just fine in my application.
I aint scared of nuthin thats got chain driven cams man.
Fear This 120R it's going to take more than gear drivin cams to save your first place trophy. Gear driven cams were a big upgrade with the early cam chain tensioners and can provide a more accurate relationship between crank and camshaft timing but the S&Ss will need some xtras to not be tormented with the 120Rs they seem to be right there with the 124 numbers that are not all that amuseing. The S&S engines give a big bang off the start but fall short from there on out this is when the 120Rs will make S&S 124'' owners choke in their own vomit. Two 124'' owners have died at Newengland dragway this past week.
