Harley more than likely changed hardware to a low pressure switch to save money.
A go/nogo idiot light also reduces owner paranoia, unnecessary tech calls, and useless forum chatter about low oil pressure "issues.

I'm very interested in this as well. Would love an update that would tell me the PSI in the readout, but not holding my breath. Is the sensor even able to give that info or is the sensor itself just a simple on/off?

Possibly the easiest solution is an extension and just drill and tap the side for an 1/8npt for a gauge. Plus it gets away from the motor but getting the orientation right will vary from motor to motor. Without a bunch of cobbled up fittings, going to be a challenge

Is there a bolt or threaded pipe plug that blocks off an oil galley somewhere, which could be replace with one that's had the center drilled and tapped to allow an 1/8 NPT fitting installed into?

They can get you pretty much anything it is what they do. There is nothing strange or odd about a Boss fitting been around for years they show adapters on that page that you can put in and convert to pipe or what ever you need. Boss fitting seal and work much better major reason they are used in a lot of HYD systems.

My money is on that answer. When the average non mechanical rider pulled up to a stop sign and they noticed that oil pressure dropped from 40 psi to 5 psi, they started bugging the dealers and calling tech support. In reality it was working like it was supposed to work. I, for one, want the psi reading back to the infotainment window...not this OK crap.

This might be a game changer. That is a low torque fitting and you have a line come off for your gage it may come loose and cause a leak. Just saying. I'd like to have a gage on mine, also.
