When delivered to me the Daymaker on my M8 was adjusted so low it was horrible riding at night. I had the first service done while on a trip to Deals Gap and asked the dealer to have a crack at adjusting it. Once adjusted properly I'm damn pleased with it. I ran Daymakers on my last Road Glide and this single setup seems comparable in performance.

That sounds like the headlight needs to be adjusted...lots of complaints out there of headlights pointed at the ground as delivered and needing to be adjusted up.

I have a 17 Ultra Limited flashed so that the running lights are always on regardless of low or high beam. I find that the light provided by the Daymaker with the running lights is very good. The high beam provides little extra light over the low beam. I rarely turn it on and usually turn it back off as the difference is barely noticeable.

In other news, I absolutely love the M8 and the bike in general!

Have you tried adjusting the headlight bucket? It sounds like it's adjusted way too low.

Here's a fact - almost all LED headlights were designed for 4-wheel vehicles, or descended from car & truck designs, not vehicles that tilt - even the Daymaker. The blind spot issue has only been addressed in the last year by Speaker with their "Adaptive" 8790 LED headlight that steers the light around corners using the tilt angle to light additional elements in the headlight. Yes, it works - I've had one for over a year. Are they expensive?...F#$king yes! - $799, no discounts. Cheap **** Chinese knockoffs are no becoming available but I've not seen any real comparisons. If you want one, make sure it mentions "Dual Beam" - that's the latest iteration and makes more light on high.
