Default What number setting is best for the Adjustable suspension

Just curious what number you guys have your suspension adjusted too on your Touring bikes? My 2018 Road King Special was set on #5 from the factory and ive been just riding it around like that. Seems to handle the bumps in the road just fine on that setting and it performed well 2 up with the wife on the back. I'm about 230lbs and she's about 130lbs. There's a lot of bumps and pot holes where I'm at too. What would be the best setting for my scenario??

I guess I should break out the owners manual and look at the weight chart settings like when I had my 2014 CVO. Lol.. I know it tells you the right amount of clicks and turns for your weight. I was just seeing if anyone had a custom quick answer that they liked.

Cant go by the manual because its wrong. My Road King is set at on # 5 for solo ( I'm 190 lbs) and for two up ( wife is about 180) I set it at #12-14 and its perfect. Not talking clicks here but actual number on the scale.

For that weight, I think the manual suggests a bit higher.

I ride solo...since I'm single right now. lol And at 220 I think I have mine at 7 now. Seems to ride well at that setting. Like you, mine was on about 5 when I bought it.

Stock shocks don't have much for sag lol.

My front end is lowered 1" with legends suspension. Back is stock. Fully loaded sidebags, slim tour pak, and luggage on top of tour pak, me at 185lbs, wife at 160lbs I think. I had the setting slightly above 5, and thought it was pretty comfortable. I didn't try and higher than that. With our luggage all off and just the tour pak and wife on, it was too stiff for us.I brought it back down to half way up to the 5 setting. This is on a 17' CVO Street Glide, so not quite the same.

and correct me if I'm wrong, but the RKS and RK have different shock lengths and travel..RKS 12" and 2" and RK 13" and 3" so the numbered settings are irrelevant for comparison purposes

I ride Solo most of the time. So maybe ill just set it on #8 for solo and about #12 for 2 up.. Ill see how that does. I'm going to compare that setting with the Handbook recommendation tho too. My book is still in the plastic. Hahaha

Dam your right. Lol.. I forgot my Road King Special has the short lowered shocks!! I'm guessing that would make a difference in peoples recommendations with the taller standard shocks.

Good catch, not sure... But if thats the case then yes, my standard RK setting would be of no use.
