A suggestion for the MOCO

A suggestion for the MOCO
In light of the fact that the MOCO has now admitted that some of their brand new 2017 and 2018 touring bikes are migrating transmission fluid to the primary case until such time as there is no longer any fluid on the transmission dip stick. Further, they freely admit to not knowing how to fix this problem or more likely they know but do not want to spend the money to recall a couple of hundred thousand touring bikes for an expensive fix. My suggestion would be that they start throwing in a FREE turkey baster in the saddlebag of each and every hydraulic clutch touring bike they sell. This FREE turkey baster could be used to siphon out excess transmission fluid in the primary case and move it back over from where it came from in the first place.
If one of the big 3 automakers ever tried to pull this bullshit kissoff on it's customers, the news media would be all over them like a bittin sow.
Where is the outrage with the Harley riders?

There will be no true outrage from HD owners. The Old Guard is dieing and they will go down with the ship. Best damn motorcycle ever made! And then some. The want to be's will buy the bikes ride them 2k miles and sell them at 50% to 80% loss and never ride again. And as HD's marketing arm spins a yarn they will claim they are getting 70% of new riders when in fact the number will be 7%. There are no real penalties for lying to wall street and investors. Just look at what wall street has got away with the last 15 years. As if HD's sec reports really mean anything. As they kiss every president's *** thats came along since Wilson.
There will be no true uproar. HD's marketing Dept. will see to that.

1. Owners are experiencing a "higher than expected" oil migration from the transmission to the primary chaincase. Higher than expected, because the expected amount is zero.
2. They do not know what is causing this migration.
3. They do not have a fix for this migration.
So, the "Official" solution is for owners to check their transmission oil levels every 1,000 miles, and top off as necessary. If the transmission is losing more than 5 ounces every 5,000 miles, then contact your dealer.
Keep in mind, the oil change interval for the transmission is 20,000 miles. So the MoCo is telling M8 owners to check their transmission oil level nineteen times between oil changes. If 5 ounces per 5,000 miles is now "acceptable", then that's 20 ounces from one fill to the next fill. The transmission holds 28 ounces. So it's now fully acceptable for the transmission to almost empty itself between changes, as long as you check it frequently.
