Default Trask air assault

I'm getting ready to change my HD high flow for either the Trask air assault or the Arlen Ness inverted. Any of you guys have experience, good or bad, with either? Trask is about $50 more but it is not as common to see on a bike compared to the Ness. Thoughts?

I like the look of the Trask better but the synthetic filter of the Ness seems pretty nice. Just really want to get rid of the stock cover (HD high flow) for something that will show more of the motor, that side of the motor looks like artwork to me so I want to see it! That probably sounds stupid.........so call me stupid I guess.

I would say the Trask would be fine until the oil from the breathers and the blow back from the throttle body get on the clear cover. It won’t look so fine then. You won’t have that problem with the Ness. Vradman should be able to tell you if I’m right about this. To me it would be a pain to have to be cleaning the air cleaner cover often.

Kinda crazy how much lighter the front end gets with that thing on it! Must be due to getting rid of the A/C housing?

$tonecold is right on the money. If it coughs during cold starts it will **** you off. It takes less than 5 minutes to disassemble and wipe it off and I have done it on a few occasions. I'm hoping it will go away once I get the cold start dialed in on this new build. That is a good observation and one you should be aware of. Wouldn't have changed my mind on my AC selection, but nonetheless, that is good info to have going in on a $450+ new AC.
