My 2017 M8 is totally stock, no add ins, no changes.

MIne is a totally stock Trike and it sumped and transferred. It’s getting an engine replacement because sumping heat and pressure cracked the crankshaft.

Sorry you're having problems with your bike and that the dealer kinda blew you off. Just for future reference, this thread is over a year old. You would get more response I think had you started a new thread. Just out of curiosity, where is the quote from, sounds like something I could have posted.

Not sure, however, I wonder if the riding style affects sumping? Seems like the built motors tend to sump more, and maybe the ones ridden hard? I have 17k on mine with no issues. I never even check the oil. Never take it past 4000 rom; always stay around 3000 or so when riding. I could be totally off on this too.

Riding style doesn't matter. Mild or wild, they've done it both ways.
In my case, both times about 2600-2700rpm.
If the rest of your engine is solid, get the new pump and be done with it.
