I just got in a 50 degree ride. All went well. No leaks. The guage is closer to the tranny than the pipe. It was not overly warm. Tranny showed about 190. It is about 1.5 in away from cat. It is probably no much warmer than the enclosed carrier that Jerzee used. I bought his guage. Very good quality. The oil was about 50deg on start up, it went right at 60# the limit of the guage then stayed about 42# when warm. Very easy to glance at while riding.
