Default So, a funny thing happened to me in NH

I went to Seacoast HD in Hampton yesterday, with a few friends, to test ride the Electra Glide Standard. This has been on my radar since it came out. I dont want all the electronics, and this just looks simple and sleek. Went on a 15 mile test ride.
I told them that I am not currently looking to buy, but I REALLY did like the bike. Worlds of difference from my 02 RKC. So, we simply started talking numbers. They came back with something WAY too high. I told them I have no issues riding mine back home, as I am not really looking to buy yet.
They dropped the price $1500 from what it was listed at (as a 19 leftover), and offered me $4k for my bike.
I told them no, even though that reduced payments by $100. Again, I reiterated, I dont NEED this today.
They came back, and asked what my absolute number would be, realistically. I gave that to them. An hour later, they came back, with a number $3 less than that. I told them I really cant justify buying a bike without a heel shifter. I told them they had a deal, as is, IF they put the heel shifter on.
We shook on it, and I am now a proud owner of a brand new 19 Electra Glide Standard!!!
What a difference in riding experience!!! From the torque, to the power, to the suspension, to the handling. There are a couple things I will do immediately to this-quick disconnect for a sissy bar, and a luggage rack in the rear-but, as this is pretty much a blank canvas, I can do what I like. I already have a graphics guy lined up to do my saddle bags. As a minimalist, this bike really hit home. The offer they made-both for my bike (which has over 50k miles on it), and discounting it to get it to my price point, I really couldnt say no. I bought it a year earlier than intended, but I would have paid cash in hand a year from now. So, I simply continue to save up like I planned, and pay the rest off in August next year-with a year on a new bike .

One happy guy here. I had 6 friends with me, and I desperately pleaded with them to talk me out of it. When that failed, I used my lifeline to call my brother in WA, as this is the model we are both looking at.
Needless to say, I have enabling friends and family....
