Did you ever get curious and have a look?

I have had the vent and fat rod for over 10K miles now, and decided to pull the fat rod and have a look at it to see how the ends of it were holding up. When I pulled the throw out bearing off, I was surprised to see trans oil (Redline Shock Proof) under it. So, it's definitely creeping through the rod cavity, but neither the trans or primary are over/under filled.

Rain is predicted here toward the end of next week, maybe I'll put it on the lift and have a peek. My guess is that the slinger is still in there.

Does it cause issues? I can't see this being an issue just because I put a vent in the primary side, seems strange.

I am all for doing what needs to be done but it seems like a lot of work for something that may or may not be there and may or may not make any difference.
Obviously by now you've got it under control, but for future folks doing this, the kit comes with a primary gasket and a derby cover gasket, but does not come with a transmission door gasket, as shown below.

You can reuse the gasket on the transmission side. I reused mine and it hasn't leaked.
