Thanks Steve. I've talked to you a couple of times and truly value your opinion.

I agree, Built the motor in my 19 with 21K on the bike. When aftermarket, knowing I would be voiding the 10 months remaining powertrain warranty. No regrets. No engine or trans problems in that 10 months, bikes now 2 years old.

Actually at 28k miles on stock lifters. I would be counting the minutes. (of course, might have been changed already.)

I sure have not heard of many lifter failures in the M8 engines.

The non 110 twin cams did not have many lifter failures. The 110 twin cam, lifter failure was not a question of if, but rather when. It's part lifter problem, part cam problem and very high valve spring pressures on the 110.

What engine? An M8? curious

yes harley lifters fail. Friend had a 131 put in last year and had one fail after only a few hundred miles.

So why did he put new lifters in to begin with? Failing in a few hundred miles could well be an installation issue.

Not saying Harley lifters don't fail.

I have not heard of lots of lifter failure on the M8 like the 110 engines. I know many M8's with over 40K miles with out lifter failure, I know very few 110's with out lifter failure before 40K

TC that were not 110 did not have a high rate of lifter failures like the 110

sorry corrected my post. He had a 131 put in. Those lifters failed. Possibly install error.

The problem with the moco is that if your clutch basket explodes or your transmission fails, belt breaks ect.. They will blame the Tuner instead of their shitty products. I see why he wants to keep the warranty, myself. the very first **** I take I wipe my *** with it... It means nothing because they can delete your warranty at anytime by simply saying "you ride the bike to hard".

Get Discount ESP and do a PV tune... Discount ESP is less than 1K for 2 years past your factory warranty.. If you still have warranty then it will work if HD denies claim.. So basically if you bought Discount ESP when you first bought the new bike you'd get 4 years total... I know doesn't answer you question totally but is an option.

Don't shift into 6th gear and see if you are still "governed".
