If you want to use the tuner yourself you need to buy the cable kit and smart tune software. Once you have those two things to go with your SEPST you are good to go. the software also includes all the Harley stage 1 and 2 maps which you can run as is or modify with the smarttune software or dynotune.
The box that is the tuner is an interface between the ECM and your PC. Once it is connected to your bike and is configured, it belongs to that bike and that bike only. Read all documentation that comes with it carefully so you understand how it operates before you flash your ECM. It is relatively easy to install one of the canned maps. Also, the canned map that was put on mine runs really well with my set-up.
