Thanks for the replies. Yes it's been tuned with the cam and I know I don't "Need" them but it's close so I "Want" them. So is that a yes or no on riding to the dyno with the 5.5's installed?
Howdy,
It wont "hurt" your bike. Might just run a bit wonky.
Please post results. Woyld like to see.
BTW,
I have the 5.5 in my buiuld and runs great.
Ok once you've got it downloaded and you're close to the bike with key and run switch on you'll want to click on the "TTS Interface Updater BT" icon on your desktop. This will check your
interface is up to date as the software is always being updated. Then open Mastertune BT. You should automatically connect to the interface with the bike on, you may get a pop up
window asking to select interface but I don't think so as that's usually if you've been using more than one interface. Under the "File" button click on "load file from interface" button.
You should see a file to click on and then it should open. Then I would, under the same File button use the "save file as button" and save it maybe in a folder on your desktop or
memory stick. Then go to the Ecm Tuning Constants under "Table selection" button and adjust injector size to 5.48 as you can't hit 5.5 exact. Then use the "file save as" button again,
the software should automatically take you back to the same folder and add a number to it so it doesn't overwrite the first one you saved. Now you're ready to program the new map back in.
Under "Programming Functions" select program ecm. Should see a window like the attached pic pop up and in the Command window select "Program ECM Calibration" and then hit Execute.
Depending on your bike you will have a couple of pop up widows to select things, pretty straight forward to click yes or no. The software will tell you when and how long to shut the bike off for
and you are done. Hope I've made sense as I'm working with an old mind.
You are overthinking this. Of course you can ride to the dyno. There is no way to harm the engine over such a short period. I have the 5.5's on my Stage 2 with a Thundermax and the bike runs great with no dyno.
Got the injectors in today no problem. Went to update the program and not a chance. The windows don't look the same, the interface was different, mt7, mt8, mt9 or save mte or load tune. I'm in so far over my head. My son in law is a real weenie. Tomorrow I'm giving him remote access and hopefully we can sort this out. Or, I'll just ride to the dyno as is. I will report back though.

Wow it shouldn't look much different. Strange. Can you post a pic of what you're seeing?

Maybe I didn't read that right but if you got to that tab you just had to select the mt7, mt8 ,mt9 and that would download and open your map. Selecting the mte would download your unlock file. It would just be a file with your vin number. You can't open or see it. As for people saying just ride it, adding 25% fuel would change your afr of 14.5:1 to somewhere around 12:1. Just my opinion but that's a big change, but your bike.
