HOLY COW!!! You want how much for insurance?
Put insurance on my Street Glide today here in Sicily. In VA I was paying $411 a year. Now, I am having to pay $1848.05 a year. That is so freaking ridiculous... Thankfully I get extra pay for being here, but that's not the point.
Nope... It's through Geico. I am told that USAA doesn't even do motorcycles over here. Apparently it doesn't stay the same as my insurance in VA was with them also. I am going to talk to one of the guys at work who has the same bike and see what he is paying.
Most of the people I know that have been stationed here or have been deployed here have loved it. I am still trying to get adjusted to the way these people are. But I don't see that ever happening.
That's crazy.
Though, it doesn't sound all that high when I compare it to my first big Harley. In 1980, my insurance was $1,200.00 a year on my Low Rider. In five years, it would cost me as much as the bike itself did. I was 22 years old, and the only fork locks on those bikes were two welded on holes that lined up when you turned the forks just right. Then you stuck your own padlock thru them. Harleys were easily stolen back then.

USAA does have insurance. I use them in Germany. And yes the insurance sucks regardless of who you go with.

USAA doesn't insure motors at all (at least that is what I was told by my rep), they referred me to Geico which has been cheaper than anyone else. Sucks that it is that much overseas for a serviceman. Seems like they should give you the same rate since you are serving our country!
