Default Anyone take a Harley to GROSVENOR ARCH IN GRAND STAIRCASE-ESCALANTE Utah ?

They say cars can do it, mind you I will be on a "Fully loaded" 2019 Fat Boy
Any rain at all I would not try it, not even with a 4WD jeep etc
I'll be around there July 9th
They have a Bureau of Land Management where the Road starts, they say check in for Road Conditions
Located in Cannonville, 9 miles paved, about 18 miles unpaved but graded - so 36 miles round trip in the dirt

I can't speak for that location or area. But I ran across about 20 miles of dirt road outside of Ash Fork Arizona. The road was graded, but what you can run into is after some rain, and large trucks or farm tractors making their way there's a lot of deep ruts in parts of the roadway. You can also run into sharp rock and need to keep a wide eye out for that. After about 12 miles the road was no longer passable for street motorcycles. It came up fast too, so we had to turn around on really rutty semi wet road to head back the way we came. I'll add I had no cell signal there either. I was on my 2009 Ultra, so a heavy barge to dirt ride with.

I looked at the road with Google earth. Beautiful area around the arch.

If you have experience riding dirt and are confident, give it a shot. My concerns would be the low water creek crossing, chance of running into stretches of sand and it was hard to tell but in one corner I thought I could see ruts.

In July the temps are often 100* + in that area. If you have time Cedar Breaks is a nice ride and a great view.

Yes, I "drove" the road in Google Maps. There are multiple wash areas, that was really unclear, fuzzy pic
Google Earth is a little bit better pics
I will check at the Land Mgmnt office & will at least go the 9 miles in on the paved roads
Will need to wait til I get there & see what the weather has been like
I will be in Bryce for 2 nites before this - 28 miles West. Should know the weather before I head out
Not going to push it, if I check in & they say Nope don't try it that will be good enough for me

Thanks !
I am actually going to be in Duck Creek, its not that far from Cedar Breaks
Google will not calculate the distance since the road is closes, maybe 20 miles all together
Better to see this 1st, then Bryce

Per Google it looks pretty smooth, I would give it a shot. We went down several questionable roads in Utah, if it gets ugly, just turn around, no reason to be a hero. But that one looks rideable at moderate speeds. Moki Dugway was another one that was a solid OK, but do not go fast. Have fun, Utah is the best.

Haven't been, but maybe the smart move is to rent a Pan America for the day if planning the trip
