I remember the initial years of OC Bikefest when bands also played at the convention center and on Sunday at the Inlet. KIX, three years in a row....come on now, show a little bit of diversity.
Skynrd & Molly Hatchet on the same night, I'm not getting anywhere near that inlet on Saturday.
We had a brutal time last year leaving after Styx/Kix shows, and a buddy of mine that was with us at Thurs/Fri shows said Saturday with 3 Doors Down was worse.
I'm also debating whether to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet due to the huge crowds in such a relatively small space. I also have friends that went to see 3 Doors Down and said it was way too crowded and wasn't worth the effort.
I happen to end up right next to the stage for Styx. It was awesome!
They are also having bands at the stadium this year..There is a really good Kid Rock tribute band there. I was there for Styx also and they were great. I usually end up at the back of the tent and that is fine with me!
Less than 4 weeks away. Not big into dealing with crowds or seeing the bands, I'd rather go on rides. Last time I was there in 2015 one of our best rides was down to Chincoteague Island Wildlife Refuge even though it's not that far away.
We are planing to ride to Virginia beach one morning over the bay tunnel bridge..should be a great ride
We were planning on doing that one last year but it didn't happen. Maybe this year, or we may save that route for our way down to Myrtle Beach next year.
Buddy of mine's Mrs. just bought a Tri-Glide Saturday, so we may end up staying close and just doing some shorter rides that may be more familiar to her while she settles into her new ride.
If you see a black '98 Electra Glide Classic in a random parking lot with a "For Sale" sign on it, it may be mine.
Thanks for the idea of VA Beach via the bay bridge tunnel. We're planning on taking that trip too now. I had to order ez-passes for 2 others in my group.
