School me On Biketoberfest in Dytona
If you haven't been, it's worth the trip. I grew up in MD and spent many summers in OC. I left MD years ago and would never live there again after experiencing 40 years of freedom in the South. I've been to OC Bike Week once and that was enough for me. Seemed like a cheap knockoff of Daytona.
Daytona Biketoberfest spreads out from Ormond Beach to Ponce Inlet. It is as big of an area as OC but many more ways to get around than just one long strip of Ocean Highway. Daytona has plenty of vendors, mostly at the Speedway and Destination Daytona (which is in Ormond Beach of I-95). There are races to go to and of course plenty of Biker friend bars. Biketoberfest doesn't have the crowds that Bike Week has in the Spring. I like it better but 2 days is usually enough for me.

I stopped going to big events years ago. They're all price gouging money grabs and loaded with sport bike azzoles and wannabe tuff guy Harley riders.
I'm near Tampa Bay, FL and even the local "bikefests" are getting out of control with pricing. $10 to $60 at the gate, $7 for a hotdog and $10 for a burger, $6-$7 for a draft beer and $10-$12 for mixed drinks, $25-$35 for an event T-shirt, crazy man. Even the bands usually suck, not that I go for the music.
Last time I went to Bike Week was in '96 and Biketoberfest was in '98 and I only live about three hours away. No thanks. The closest I get to the big events are maybe the local pre event bar parties.
